Educator Workshops The Bear Creek Watershed Education Partners host workshops to provide formal and non-formal educators the knowledge and skills needed to develop effective watershed education programs. BCWEP sponsors at least two educator workshops each year. Past workshops have included topics such as macroinvertebrate sampling and identification, salmonid taxonomy and classroom activities, tree planting, riparian health and mapping, stream temperature monitoring, water quality, irrigation, journaling, stream surveying and many more. We are always looking for talented educators to share their knowledge by facilitaing a workshop for others. Contact us if you are interested. All workshops are free for BCWEP members, or $10.00 for non-members. The $10.00 workshop fee includes new BCWEP membership for that academic year. Pre-registration is reqiured for workshops, and can be done by contacting BCWEP coordinator at bcwep1@yahoo.com. Our last workshop, GPS and Your Watershed (Agenda) was co-sponsored with Oregon State University Extension Center 4-H Forestry and Natural Resource Education Program. The next workshop will be a partnership with Oregon Trout's Healthy Waters Institute Program on scientific inquiry for K-12 teachers. The workshop will be held August 26, 2005 in Medford in conjunction with local teacher's in-service training.
